Educational Blogging

Dear Blog readers,

I have been using this blog with my students, especially in my legal English class, to make authentic English materials available to my students.  I have not required my students to comment or to post to the blog, or to have their own blogs.

In educational terms today, given the state of Web 2.0 technology and its aplications in teaching, I have underutilized the blogging tool. After all, blogging offers so many more possiblities for learning collaboratively and for exchanging perspectives, not only within the class group, but with the world at large.

Here is a video of what I am talking about:

So here is a question I would like to post for my former students:

Do you think it would be useful to have a class blog in the Legal English class?  In other words, would you like to be posting and exchanging perspectives on the materials for class in writing via a blog?  Do you think it would help you to reflect further on the issues discussed?  Would you like to see your lcassmates' ideas and respond to them?  Would you like to have them read your ideas and respond?  Would you like for the whole world to read what you post?

If you are one of my former students, and you still check back here to see what materials I am posting, and if you feel like it, would you leave me a comment?
